Visit to Ottoni Fabbrica in Italy

We are extremely pleased to offer the plastic-free kettles from Ottoni Fabbrica in the Wert&Voll Shop. We had long wanted to visit their production facility in Gravellona Toce. Due to the Corona situation, it took a while, but finally, the time had come. We would like to tell you about this visit and our partnership here.

Gravellona Toce is a city in northern Italy, near Lago Maggiore. I traveled by train from Bern via Brig to Domodossola and then took the bus the last stretch to Gravellona Toce. Upon arriving at the factory, I was warmly welcomed by my contact, Gabriella. Even though we had already established a good business relationship online, personal contact is irreplaceable. Gabriella showed me some milestones in the history of Ottoni Fabbrica, such as the kettles that have been continuously developed into today's electric kettles. But pots, pans, and bowls also belong to Ottoni's repertoire. The company, founded by Giovanni Ottoni in 1963, has been family-owned and is now run by Giovanni's son Andrea Ottoni. What unites them is their passion for high-quality stainless steel products. Highest quality and functionality have always been their goal.

After getting acquainted, Andrea Ottoni and I were able to tour the production facility. It was very impressive to see that many of the processes are still carried out using traditional craft methods, with the greatest care. The traditional work steps are complemented by state-of-the-art laser technology. Ottoni sources the steel for its products from Germany, as well as the high-quality heating element. The wooden components are manufactured directly in the region. Everything is then processed and assembled on-site at the Ottoni factory. I was able to see for myself that the regionality of the raw materials is firmly anchored in the philosophy of Ottoni Fabbrica.

It was very clear that all employees are dedicated to creating outstanding products with heart and soul. Sustainability and fairness play a major role for Ottoni, and they thus form a counterpoint to other manufacturers who outsource their production to Asia for cost reasons.

In the subsequent conversation with Andrea and two other brothers of the Ottoni family, we discussed the possibilities of regional production of stainless steel products, such as lunchboxes. We are all aware that it is impossible to compete on price with Asian producers. And yet, we share the vision that quality and fairness, as well as local production, offer significant advantages over production in Asia. They prove exactly this with their kettles.

We at Wert&Voll are convinced that we have found a long-term partner in Ottoni and we very much hope that we will work together on the project "Sustainable Stainless Steel Products, Made in Italy" in the future. We will, of course, keep you updated on the developments!

Frequently Asked Questions

The most important answers at a glance. You can find all questions on our FAQ page.

What are your shipping costs and from what order value do you offer free shipping?

We deliver free of charge for purchases of CHF 99.- or more. Below that, you pay a flat rate per parcel: CHF 8.- with B-Post or CHF 10.- with A-Post. Orders containing only gift cards are always free of shipping costs. There is no minimum order quantity.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

We ship your goods within 1-3 business days. How quickly the package arrives after that depends on the postal service. We cannot be held liable for delayed deliveries by the postal service. The invoice is enclosed in a paper envelope attached to the package.

Can I order on account?

Yes, purchase on account is possible and processed through POWERPAY. You will need a valid email address for this, and the invoice will come directly from POWERPAY. It is payable within 14 days at no extra cost.

How do I configure the engraving?

Via the "Configure Engraving" button on the product page. There you enter what you want to engrave: names, texts or sayings, as well as the font and, if desired, a symbol. For lunch boxes, the engraving is placed on the lid. Engraving is done permanently by laser.

Can I return an engraved product if I don't like it?

No. Personalized products with engravings are excluded from the 30-day return policy. For all products without engravings, the 30-day return policy applies, as long as they are returned without signs of use and with intact packaging. Therefore, please double-check the spelling, names, and symbols before ordering.

How long is the warranty and what does it cover?

The product pages state a 2-year warranty. An exchange is possible in case of obvious transport damage or a manufacturing defect. We will handle communication with the manufacturer for you, so you don't have to worry about it. After return and inspection, you will receive a free replacement immediately.
